by Relativity2 (Category: Education)

In a Web 2.0 world, social marketing leverages your business with audio, video, and text.
As an example, blogging may very well turn out to be one of the most ingenuous marketing strategies for anyone who has an online business and is willing to commit to its process.Web 2.0 seems such an unlikely stratagem that many online marketers are still wary of using as a marketing tactic, much to their disadvantage.
Statistics show that marketers who have embraced and adopted social marketing have experienced unprecedented success.
Here are three reasons why social marketing is important for your online business.#1 Social marketing gets you the information you needSocial marketing is a popular and effective way of getting vital information that is essential to the success of your business.
Social networking directories such as Netscape and Digg are increasingly gaining favor as an option for people across the globe to keep in touch with the latest happenings in their area of interest.
Want to measure your content’s effectiveness? Try posting it to a Netscape or Digg like service.
Blogging and submitting to pertinent social directories is an effective way of attracting and retaining important traffic.

Is MLM a Scam Or a Legitimate Business?

Is MLM a Scam Or a Legitimate Business?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Pavel_Becker]Pavel Becker

Ask anybody on the street about their opinion on MLM business. I guarantee most of the answers are going to be “They don’t work!” or “It’s a pyramid scheme!”

Somehow everybody happened to have an opinion about this marketing strategy while having no experience or actual knowledge on the subject.

So, what is an MLM and how does it work?

In the 21st century there are a few options available for the manufacturer or the provider of any particular product or service to promote themselves and what they have to offer.

A retail store, as a final point of sale, is the most obvious and familiar for most of us way to introduce the product to the customer and to facilitate the sale. In this scenario, an actual store is only the visible part of the iceberg. In order for this strategy to work the manufacturer or the provider has to spend noticeable amount of money on advertising and marketing in order to educate the customer about the product. A number of positions would have to be filled in order to handle associated activities. The store owner will receive a reward for closing a sale only once for each sale. You’ll see later why it’s important.

Another way to sell a product is direct sales. In this scenario a sales person receives a reward for each sale, but there is no store or constant geographical location for a customer to visit. A sales person has to actually chase the customer around in order to close sales one by one. The manufacturer can save on advertisement and marketing in this case, because it becomes the sales person’s headache. Again, like in the example with the retail store, the salesman will be rewarded only once for each event of sale.

Yet another way to distribute the product is the Multi Level Marketing scenario, where every customer receives a reword for referring others to the product or service.

Think about it this way:

You purchase a new Chevy Suburban from a local dealer. The dealer that sold the vehicle to you receives a compensation from GM in a form of a, let’s call it, bonus check. Normally it would be the only profit associated with this event of sale. But with an MLM scenario GM will issue another check for you, if, based on your recommendation, your brother Tom decides to buy a Suburban. The matter of fact the original dealer will receive another check from GM when your brother Tom buys his truck. That’s where the Multi Level comes from: multiple people receive a reward for the consequent sales.

If your brother Tom generates another person willing to purchase another Suburban, he will receive a bonus check from GM, you will get paid again and, may be, the original dealer - that would depend on what we call a compensation plan.

If you hear a high-pitched voice inside of your head right now screaming “A pyramid scheme! A pyramid scheme!” here is an explanation for you:

It looks like a Pyramid scheme based on the compensation plan, that’s correct. But the difference between the Pyramid scheme and MLM is that MLM has actual product, not only the business opportunity. You don’t have to continue selling Suburbans. You can just stop right there and that would be it. But you have an opportunity to make extra money by promoting this beautiful piece of machinery and to receive a bonus check every time somebody buys another vehicle based on your recommendation. And you will also be getting checks for every car that Tom sells as well.

You probably remember that your gym manager told you that you will receive two month of free membership if you get any of your friends to sign up. That’s another level of the MLM. The matter of fact most businesses now days offer referral bonuses and incentives, so the idea is not that frightening until somebody actually calls it MLM.

That was a short explanation about how an MLM company works. If you are interested in learning more you can find plenty of information on the subject on the Net, if not - you, probably, have already left this page a few minutes ago.

How to Be Taken Seriously in Your Doula Business - 5 Tips

How to Be Taken Seriously in Your Doula Business - 5 Tips
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Darlene_MacAuley]Darlene MacAuley

So you want to be a doula. A Savvy one at that. I’d like to offer you 5 tips to help you be taken seriously as a business owner:

1. Make the decision and say to yourself “I own a doula business”. Does it feel different to say that as opposed to “I am a doula”. As doulas, we are nurturing, caring, creative and passionate about birth. We hold energetic space for a woman. We use our intuition often. It’s a boldly feminine role. On the other hand, running a business is more masculine in nature. It must have its own structure and operate within bigger structures (as in state and federal government structures). We operate the business according to systems we put in place for ourselves, we put ourselves in the public eye through marketing and advertising efforts, and we hold our clients within a framework of expectations. Being a business owner takes recognizing not only who you are as a doula, but acknowledging the fact that you own and must manage the day-to-day tasks of a small business. Both sides of the coin must be balanced.

2. Create a plan for your practice. Business planning helps you to set goals, find out about your competition, determine what your clients want and see what money-making potential your business has in store for you. If you are the sole owner of your business and you are not planning to go into business with others or need outside funding, you don’t necessarily need to create a full-fledged formal business plan. Karyn Greenstreet, one of the business coaches I like, wrote an article highlighting the points you should explore when creating a plan. Visit the articles section on passionforbusiness.com

3. Maintain a professional presence. You don’t need to wear a suit when meeting with other professionals and clients, but you should dress professionally. Communicate via email without shouting (typing in all caps), the use of slang, emoticons or acronyms (ie: LOL, IMHO, etc) and by all means, use your spell check. Be on time for your appointments and have an agenda to follow for your interviews, prenatals and postpartum visits.

4. Get some business cards. Business cards help to communicate who you are, what you do, and how to reach you. It’s much more professional than giving someone the same information scrawled onto a napkin. Business cards can range from free to fancy. I’d discourage the use of cards printed on perforated business card stock because the perforations are visible and don’t look very good. A variety of cards can be created inexpensively on VistaPrint using their free templates, or you can upload or create your own card using your logo and branding.

5. Create and have your clients sign a contract. Whether you charge for your services or not, you need to have a contract. Contracts help you define your policies and the boundaries you choose to work within and helps you to communicate those with your clients. It is also advisable to have an attorney look over your contract. If cost is an issue for you, see if there is an attorney referral hotline and ask if there are any attorneys who offer pro bono services. Some SBA offices may also be able to refer you to resources for reasonable or free legal services.

Be proud of yourself. You are a doula. You own a doula business. There are many other factors that make a business owner and a business, but the five tips I’ve given you will help you be perceived as a professional and will help you to increase your confidence.

How much should the lawn care business owner pay them per hour? worth its while. by Xavier Alvarez
This book helped me understand other methods of closing sales. I was able to relate because I was in auto sales in the past. I think this book should be in every auto salesmans possession. Im no longer in auto sales but in takeaway sales. This book doesn’t touch base on that type of sale. I still recommend to anyone in general sales.

Awesome Book by Thomas Joseph Shoemaker
This book Increased My Sales in my Business by 300% within 1 month. This book is a must for any serious business Person.

Joe Girard takes the cake by Business Book Fan
He’s literally the World’s Greatest Salesman, who has actually been in the field and achieved great accomplishments in sales himself, vs other gurus who simply do great at selling their books & audiobooks. He’s the best, period, and he shares his knowledge with you in this book.

enjoyable yarn by Christopher Brennan
I bought this book and an audio tape arrived so straight away you have some insight into me. The tape is good quality and a great listen. However if you are looking for the elusive silver bullet prehaps you need to look elsewhere, prehaps into yourself.
The foundation of this tape is that success in sales stems from personal integerity projected from you onto the prospect.Prehaps i’m naive but just refering to a customer as a prospect somehow casts a shaddow of doubt on the notion of integerity.
All in all if you are interested in a career in sales this is worth the price and if you are already a soul dead professional prehaps you might just glean some iota of truth from the ideal that joe expounds but just dosen’t quite get.
I gave it four stars because three seemed too low.Certain aspects deserve five star plus
Please excuse spellings.

First-hand advice on under-handed sales gimmicks… by Johnny Lee
Joe Girard has an impressive record as a salesman, a fact to which the reader is treated at regular and frequent intervals throughout the book. Self-aggrandizement notwithstanding, this book left me quite convinced that car salesmen have earned every bit of their sleazy reputations.

I suppose that if you sell products for a living, there are some useful (although hardly novel) techniques highlighted in this work. That said, I’m not sure how Girard draws a distinction between himself and the myriad other “super-salesmen” authors on the market today…I certainly couldn’t.

Beyond the general feel of the author’s style and content, there are other cautionaries to relay. For instance, there is virtually no use in reading this book if you sell expertise or advisory services of any kind. Likewise, if you’re a stickler for principle-based selling, this might not been the read for you.

To state the matter plainly, this book is replete with petty dishonesties that are pawned off on the reader as “techniques” of one variety or another. Finally, the reader should note that Girard’s text presupposes a fairly unsophisticated buyer, so if that doesn’t match your clientele, then you might want to keep browsing the bookshelves. In sum, if you’re not selling products in a high-pressure, high-volume environment, there’s nothing here particularly new or appealing from Mister Girard. This reviewer strongly recommends that you find another seller…

Marketing Research Online Firms - 2 Secrets Online Firms Didn’t Tell You
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Vern_How_Chan]Vern How Chan

Some Marketing Research Online Firms Just Gets Everything Right! Or Do They?

I know what you’re thinking, if there are marketing research online firms doing this right now then in reality they are ripping you off, right? Not really, its in their DNA that some things are better not to be told.

In my humble opinion, if you knew these secrets you would be reaping as much profits as you want online but you have to have the heart to put these things to work for yourself.

Secret 1: Check The Market Trends And Match Them

We’re not going to dive into a whole topic about what the market wants and needs. Rather what is your target market thinking about now? Well, for instance there is a recession and most people are panicking left and right.

So, what are you going to do about it? Ride the wave! It’s really simple because each business person is looking for a guide so I’m here to help them out in that perspective.

What about you? How can you turn the tides to your favor in terms of market trends? You don’t have to answer this just yet but do keep it in mind when you make your next marketing strategy.

Secret 2: Leverage The Search Engines

I’m hearing some new products about how to advertise online with pay per click and so forth more often than ever. Back a few years ago most Internet marketing experts actually shy away from it and even tells people that it was too costly to market.

Its actually an opportunity to market now due to the insolvent markets especially now in the USA that most people are trying to avoid spending too much. If you’re someone who wants to ‘tighten your belts’ then take this direction instead.

Go to the search engines which are mainly your favorite and then observe how people are ranking online. Then, take the top 5 websites (we want to do this quickly) and see how they are structuring their sites in detail to find out how they rank. You do the same to rank there.

Simple But Not Easy

Sure, you can become almost as powerful as any marketing online research firms when you do these 2 secrets but you can’t do massive marketing campaigns without a specific plan. Use the power of planning your marketing strategy carefully before rolling out your master plan with a proven system.
